It’s Thursday, June 10. Part of Historic Route 66 will shut down for eight days starting this evening, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. The closure will take effect in front of Flagstaff City Hall as workers repair the nearby Rio de Flag Bridge.

The National Transportation Safety Board has determined that the failure of a BNSF Railway crew to adhere to restricted speed requirements caused a fatal train crash near Kingman almost three years ago. 


Water restoration is expected this week for residents of some 500 homes in the unincorporated community of Golden Valley in northwestern Arizona that have been without water for days due to a broken well.
