Coconino National Forest managers will pick up multiple prescribed burns on the Flagstaff and Mogollon Rim Ranger districts this week.

The Coconino National Forest has announced prescribed burn projects next week on the Mogollon Rim and Flagstaff ranger districts.

Two scout camps are on SET, or pre-evacuation, due to a wildfire burning north of Payson near the Mogollon Rim. Officials with InciWeb say the Brady Fire was reported Sunday and has so far burned around 300 acres. Camp Geronimo and Shadow Ridge Camp have been placed on SET and should be ready to evacuate if necessary.

Multiple prescribed burns are set to take place on the Coconino National Forest this week. Officials note all burns could be postponed due to high winds or humidity levels that don’t meet burn criteria.

Authorities with the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office say they have recovered all three victims who drowned Monday after falling through the ice into Woods Canyon Lake on the Mogollon Rim.

Officials say the search for the two men is expected to continue Tuesday.

The group initially planned to sell the Payson camp to help pay its required contribution to the Boy Scouts of America’s $850 million sexual abuse settlement.
